Live Coding // 20:00 – 00:00 // Doka
As the city welcomes the global electronic music community, we’re excited to celebrate the live coding scene alongside it. An Algorave (a combination of algorithm and rave) is a club night where music and visuals are created by writing code in real time. Rather than performing pre-recorded tracks, artists improvise throughout the night while their code is projected for the audience to follow, making the creative process part of the performance.

Kicking off on ADE Thursday, Refuge Worldwide brings a visual ode to the history of Black Music. They’re digging deep to showcase rare, influential records and the untold stories behind the artists. Since October is Black Achievement Month, they’ve expanded their original Berlin expo with a heavy focus on Dutch history. The opening night features a DJ spinning tracks straight from the exhibition. The artwork stays up for a whole quarter, but you’ll want to be in the building for the launch.

Two independent radio stations cross borders for a special joint takeover in our basement.
Broadcasting 24/7 from a wooden kiosk in Brussels’ Parc Royal, Kiosk Radio has grown into a vital cultural hub for Europe’s underground music scene. Joining forces from across the Atlantic is The Lot Radio, NYC’s iconic independent station streaming non-stop from a repurposed shipping container in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. This night kicks off with a live video broadcast straight from the booth, streaming sets from our basement’s booth to a global audience.
